Dr. Brian Clark is a professor of law and civil justice at Newcastle University Law School in the United Kingdom and is Deputy Head of Academic Affairs. He is also a member of the Lex Erudites Advisory Board. He spent 15 years as a professor at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. The professor is a social law scholar interested in mediation and alternative dispute resolution, and in particular considers how these processes interact with formal civil justice and the work of lawyers and judges. He is currently chair of the Scottish Relations Verification and Accreditation Panel, a former board member of the Scottish Mediation, and a former member of the Academic Committee of the Civil Mediation Council. The professor was also a member of a group of experts on recent member bills on facilitating mediation in the simple procedure of the Scottish Parliament.
