Who can’t resist an ’80s tribute band? Spazmatics offers the great sound, style and cool dance steps of the 1980s, calling themselves “The Ultimate He’s the 80s New Wave Tribute”. According to its website, they “recapture all the best of the worst,” complete with skinny ties, brill-cream hair and horn-rimmed glasses. Styles come together for an evening of pure energy and entertainment.” Doors open at 5:30pm. Music starts at 6:30pm at Fanny Hill, Snowmass.

Clay National XVI, August 20th to October 1st

The Carbondale Clay Center presents Clay National XVI “Say it with Clay”, judged by Diane Kenny. The National Exhibition of Ceramics is held annually at the Carbondale Clay Center Gallery and features a handful of contemporary ceramic artists exhibiting a wide range of works.

“We experience the powerful presence of handcrafted pieces in our homes and in our daily lives,” said Kenny. “Each piece has a story that connects us to the memory of its creator. We who live with the piece can feel their soul. part of it.”

BASALSA, noon to midnight, August 20

BASALSA is back. There are food trucks, children’s activities, dance lessons, outdoor barefoot bachata afternoons, and musical evenings with dancing in the theater. The event is free and anyone can participate.

Movies Under the Stars: The Goonies, August 20, 8 PM
