Jordan Perryman handles disrespectful media questions like whistling passes in his direction.
When asked why he transferred from UC Davis to the University of Washington, the new cornerback made a bombastic sweeping gesture at Husky Stadium and, in fact, said, “See for yourself. It’s beautiful here.” says.
Asked if he felt the need to join the Huskies to reach the NFL, Perryman said, looking you straight in the eye, “I was pretty sure Davis could do it.
And when asked if he expects to be selected as a rookie once the season starts, Perryman said he’s prepared for that, too, saying, “If they see the movie, they’ll know where I was before, Field. I’ve seen what they did in the
In case it wasn’t clear by now, this 6-foot, 202-pound defensive back and two-time First Team All-Big Sky selection brings plenty of moxie and swagger to the rebuilt Husky secondary.
According to his coach, Perryman is the complete package and a perfect replacement as UW is doing its best to replace Trent McDuffie and Kyler Gordon, who are currently employed by the NFL.
“He’s playing better than anyone on the football team,” said co-defensive coordinator Chuck Morrell.
Having had an epic battle with sophomore wide receiver Rome Odunze, another UW player wearing No. 1, Perryman seems to have a skill set that works at any level.
“When you ask someone to go from Big Sky to Pac-12 football, it’s a huge leap and he hasn’t shot an eye since he stepped onto campus,” Morell said. “He plays with confidence. He has amazing football intelligence. He has elite physical attributes and he will do great things for us.”

While no one questioned Perryman’s talents, many questioned his methods, questions about the possibility of him being challenged as a new fixture for the Pac-12 almost put him out of the picture. It seemed to make him angry.
Morrell laughed when told about this, then backed the idea that his self-assured cornerback was entitled to be harassed by the target’s suggestion.
Coaches love the overall package this guy brings to the Husky secondary: athleticism, fearlessness and especially his step struts.
“I joke with them all the time. If the D line messes up, no one knows. If the linebackers mess up, no one knows.” I know who made the mistake, so it’s better to go into it with the right mindset.”
Perryman seems well equipped when it comes to mental sparring.
